LAST DAY!!! Yee Haw!!

Today is the last treatment of radiation for Richard. He has awoken with a headache, so will do his workout later today. Right now, he is at his computer waiting for the Tylenol to kick in. Richard has astounded his doctor at M.S.T.I. by not showing any, or little, side effects from the radiation. Hair is all there (what there was to start with), no sun burn, not extremely tired, to name a few of the after effects they warned us of. He was in very good physical shape at the start, and continues to walk almost every day on the treadmill. I think this has helped alot. Maintained his weight at about 218. Back to the gym in January! Yeah!!! At times, it seem that this day would never come, yet it is here now, and I find myself wondering how the rest of our lives will be affected. After this treatment, I hope to entice him into a bit of a celebration. Possibly lunch at the Blue Ribbon. We'll see. Next appointment will be the end of January, a blood test, and we will go from there.

Read an article in the paper yesterday while we were waiting for treatment. It was about the "baby boomers." Starting January 1, over 10,000 people a DAY will turn 65 years old and this will continue for 19 YEARS!!! Kind of a startling statistic isn't it? Do the math. Our parents and their friends were really busy after the war. Make that wars. WWII, Korea, Vietnam, just to name a few. Food for thought.

It is raining and blowing now and has been raining and blowing all night. I keep have nightmares about the amount of rain we are getting, and the amount of snow that may turn to runoff in the mountains. Shades of that New Years' evening that we were evacuated due to the flooding. Then, the rain was coming down literally like buckets on the car windshield when we got your mother and left the valley to go over the hill to relative safety. Now, we have the added worry about the sewer ponds. Then, it wasn't our problem. Now it is.

Our makeshift drain pipe is flowing with water from the yard. The ditch is full and running well, well it is running anyway. Hope the house doesn't float away or get blown away. Dogs wouldn't like that at all. They are rather stuck in their habits. New thought! We can load up the dogs and get the flock out of here in our 5th wheel! Yeah!!! An escape!. May do that anyway, just to get away from the area for awhile. Don't know where we would go, weather sucks most everywhere right now. But Rich will find something, I'm sure. He says we could go to Cascade and watch the shit float down the river.

Garth Brooks and other nonsense

Day after Christmas and we are playing on the computers and singing along with Garth. We have a 5 disc set and have had a great time (not in tune) singing at the top of our voices. Not really. we are singing though. Rich likes to change the words to something he feels is more interesting.

Had a great time at Heather's. Heather, Ben, Lacey and Whitnee, Mom and Dad, us, my youngest brother and his two kids and Ben's mom and sister and niece. Full house. The kids were being kids, playing games and running around.

Heather has a yellow lab named Sandy. Just before Halloween, Sandy delivered her second litter. 11 puppies!!! 5 girls and 6 boys all yellow. They all were gone by yesterday but for two. One is sold, just waiting for the new owners to come get him. The other is still waiting. He is such a cuddle bug, that it will be hard to keep him from being a lap dog as he gets bigger.

Hope you had a nice Christmas. Happy New Year!!!

p.s. Rich has 3 days left!!! Cause for celebrating.

Water, Water Everywhere

This is what the place looked like right after the snow melted, with more rain and snow on the way.

We almost have our own lake.

So we dug a ditch, installed a pipe, covered it up to keep it in place, and made little channels from the "lake" in order to drain the water. That worked really well and now the water is in the ditch in front, waiting for us to dig parts of the ditch deeper so ALL the water can go to the slough. You will notice the larger pipe in the background. It was put in by the crazy lady who used to live in the school. She put in the pipe when Rich explained to her that her fence she started would block the drain ditch on the school side of the fence, and then she promtly covered the other end so no water could go through. Sure glad she is gone, I think. Now we have to go over to the school and clean out all the stuff she left, and the stuff that Worthington left.
Yes, we are having fun. Cathy

Update on "Microwaving"

Well folks, Richard has 7 days of radiation left. 4 days next week and 3 the week after. We were discussing this on the way over to Nampa on Thursday, and just after he got checked in, here comes this counselor to talk to him. We all know Richard has an aversion to counselors, but he surprised me and agreed to speak with the nice man. Richard blew the guy away with his great attitude. "I haven't thought of and don't think of myself in the terms you are using." Things like "Cancer Survivor." He is being treated for "elevated PSA levels", that is all as far as he is concerned. Richard has the greatest way of looking at things. He will "do what it takes to continue our life together. We are going camping." I got all teary eyed and such, cause that meant so much to me. Richard works out almost every morning. He has had very little side effects from the radiation. We are convinced that it is because of his workouts and he was in such good shape before the radiation started. The only thing he is grouchy about is having to travel to Nampa daily.

Lecture Time. (You are warned)

I have heard that Richard had not told "you" that he had these "situations" arising. But, yes he did. He called all of you and told you what was going on and why. That was in 2007. It has been our blog many times since then. He will not call just to talk about medical things or himself usually, but he will answer questions if you ask him. So, ASK HIM. He won't lie to you. He is very blunt, and straight forward. We all know this about him. Lecture over.

We are looking forward to Christmas. Going to Heather's for dinner on Christmas day. Our present to each other was the Greystone, and won't fit in the house, so our tree only has presents for the kids and Mom and Dad. That is plenty, as I feel I am getting the best present ever. My husband.

You all have a good Christmas, Love to all.

Breakfast

This is for all you early morning people who like a little more than a jolt of fresh brewed to start your day. the calorie count on this little goodie will rock your world. People that don't care about how tight their Levi's are, well read on. But for all others you have had your warning. Wait for it! Wait for it! YES !!!!!! EggNog French toast, see there, now you know. OK OK now for the recipe : One 1/2 gallon of eggnog with the recipe on the side of the carton. Hot syrup of your choice, a little dab of butter, and dig in. That's American for Bon Api Tite and don't knock the spelling it's supposed to be funny. I would have taken a picture, but it didn't last long enough. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

Time goes on, for some.

Had a good Thanksgiving day feast. Mom and Dad and us. Drove them home and returned home for a day, then back to MH to babysit a friend's mom. While I am there, I got the call no one wants to get. A family member had died.

My aunt was a great lady. Just was a year older than Richard, and more like a big sister than an aunt. Francie lived with us in Sparks Nevada for a year. I was maybe 10 years old. I watched her do the teenager stuff and learned a lot. She was outgoing, caring and had a great time. She and her best friend Rosie, taught me how to dance to American Bandstand. (You all should remember that show!) She had three kids later in life than most, but was a very loving mom because it took her so long to get the kids. Two boys and a girl. The family lived in Layton Utah these last few years. Her husband, Ron, retired from the Air Force and actually worked at Area 51. I think. (family secret...?) Francie passed from Cancer. The start? Being diagnosed with breast cancer in July of this year, and after a double mastectomy, (on her birthday) they found the cancer had spread to one lung, her liver, one leg and her back. Not much hope from there on. She tried to do the chemo and radiation, but it was not successful and she passed on December 1. Ron decided to bring Francie home to Idaho. A very selfless thing to do. All of us are grateful for the thoughtfulness he has shown. The body she left behind was not the way I want to remember her. She was brave and tried not to let on how bad things were. She didn't tell my mom until she had to, just to spare mom the worry.

The reason I am posting this, is that the both of us were feeling a little depressed with life's little twists and turns, and after Fran died, we realized how incredibly blessed we are to have found each other and to have the family we do. Thank you all for being family.

She is home!

hop scotch anyone?
the fireplace

actually pretty comfortable.
opens into air bed.

tv set above the fireplace

the bank of drawers opens to make an island counter.

sometimes it's good to be short.

Got home just as darkness hit on Friday. Richard got her backed in with just a little jockeying, as it's been quite a while since he has had to do such things. Now we need to cut down a tree, put a culvert in and cover it just to make the driveway larger. Rich is headed out soon to cut down the thorny bush across the street. It seems that the bush wanted to hold onto the truck while Rich was trying to back thru it.
Rich was up most of Friday night, so he decided to read the stuff we got with the trailer. Then we spent yesterday just looking and playing with the gadgets. Worry about doing the right thing also raised it's head. Buyers remorse? No, just plain worry.
This morning, we head out to take the photos above. As we are going down the driveway to the Queen, Rich tells me to not step on any "crumbly" dirt or mud so we don't track it into the trailer. Now picture this: two grown adults trying to step on anything but dirt - out here. If that ain't a sight! Like jumping on the stones that partially stick out of the water in the creek, only we were aiming for grass spots etc.
So we are looking forward to going for our first trip. Lots of time to plan. Rich wants to spend a couple of nights in the trailer to get used to sleeping there. Of course, that will wait until warmer nights are here. We are not gluttons for that much punishment.

Come on out for an inspection. You are welcome any time. We have a spare house. (not getting rid of the stationary one though.) Rent is negotiable. Toilet paper extra.

Dreams Do Come True, in due time.

I don't know if any of you knew this, but when Richard came home from the Navy, his plan was to wait until the folks were gone, then leave. He had it planned to get a big truck and 5th wheel and go traveling. I changed some of that. The time line was skewed a little.

Flash forward in time to March 2010. We go looking for a pickup. I thought we would be looking at regular trucks. I had no idea it would be a 1 ton dually. Rich, on the other hand, knew exactly what he was looking for, and got it. One piece of the dream down, several to go.

Filing for Social Security. Richard did that in Sept. It starts in January. Next piece completed.
Found a 5th wheel hitch and tailgate on the auction.Who woulda thunk it? Musick Auction, your dad's favorite place to be on Saturday mornings. Another piece completed.

Find a 5th wheel or trailer. Thought we had done that. 2001 Prowler by Fleetwood. Problem: no financing. Reason: manufacturing plant is no longer in existence, so no parts if needed, plus the age of the unit. This ended up being ok with us after the initial let down. This is a very big unit. Too much for us really.

Checked out the Internet. Actually found something we liked. Had to go look at it. So after Richard got "microwaved" yesterday, we took a ride to Nelsons in Nampa/Caldwell. Didn't really want to go to Boise, but they are the same dealership, just different brands, so ended up going over to Boise anyway. Looked at the model we liked on the Internet, did the ooh and aah thing, and decided we liked it enough to buy it. On "sale" even. While we waited for the salesman to get a brochure, we did some looking at other units close by. We found a bigger unit for a lot more money, scratched that one off the list of possibility's, then found one a little bigger than the first one and fell in love, maybe lust, and changed horses in mid stream. So when all is said and done, we got the middle sized one. Richard traded his motorcycle. I'll say it again. Richard gave up the motorcycle!!! That's when I knew this was for real. We used the equity in it and the little red car and made a big down payment and arranged financing for the rest. We sign the papers and pick it up on Friday afternoon after another "microwaving".(This "microwaving" is a daily thing until the Monday after Christmas. He gets Thanksgiving Day, Christmas day and weekends off.) Almost all the pieces are put together.

So Here it is. A Greystone by Heartland. 3 slides; 32 feet long; fireplace under the TV; It's "beautimus" as Richard calls her. Making plans for travel next spring. Just might drop in on a few of you.

A Story about my "Trip"

Daughter Lisa called last night. Seems Mom fell after getting out of the car and cut her hand and landed on her knees. Not too big a deal unless you know she has two knee replacements (one for each side) and is on a blood thinner for heart trouble. Dad can't help her up cause he had surgery on his hand, and goes looking for Lisa. This could be disastrous, as Dad likes to trip on a blade of grass. Lisa was asleep and had to get moving quickly to help. Lisa never moves quickly after getting woke up. She needs time to vegetate. Some relation to Richard. She gets Mom up and in the house, and calls me. Mom's hand bleeds, the knees turn black and blue and everything is swollen. So I call Mom and she comes clean about the falling. Richard asked her how high she bounced and if there was a dent in the ground where she landed. (My mother is not a small woman) We make arrangements for me to meet them at the pulmonalogist (?) office this morning. When I see her ouchies, it makes me cringe. I remind her that the blood thinner could cause her some problems, and to please call her primary care when they get home. Well, here is where the fun started. Her appt. was for 9:30, saw dr. at 10:30, got out after visit and recommendations at 11:30, went for chest x-ray at 11:45, and got to go eat after 1:15, the x-ray itself only took about 1 minute. Everywhere it was hurry up and wait. So, we decided to go to IHOP just down the road from St. Al's. Mom and Dad get inside, I finish a phone call to Rich, head in, and damned if I don't trip on thin air and fall in the parking lot. Skinned up my left elbow, left knee (my good one) and both hands. Luckily I didn't hit the curb with my face or head, just my shoulder, and skinned my cell phone. This was witnessed by an older couple who heard me turn the air blue. He left and she offered to help me up. I didn't bounce either or dent the concrete. Thank you West Nile. So Mom turns the tables on me about falling. I told her I really had no intention of literally following in her footsteps. I go clean up and we have lunch. On the way home, I am telling Rich what happened as I am driving. He asked if I could drive okay, then asked if I was sitting down and had my seat belt on so I wouldn't fall out of the seat. HA HA HA. very funny. If I knew when these things were going to happen, I could prepare for them, you know, padding, avoiding altogether. But tripping on air appears to be unforeseeable, at least for me. Of course, I'm blind as a bat.

Life resumes after hunting.

Richard got back from hunting...twice. Left on a Friday, came home on Tuesday, left again early Wednesday morning, home again on Thursday. No Elk. I was just getting used to doing the chores by myself. Stuff like feeding the dogs breakfast on time, getting them outside, getting ready for a class that ultimately gets canceled, you know.

Got to sit in at the last sewer board meeting for Rich. Still fighting an uphill battle. Trying to get approval to fix stuff, sell other stuff (fencing and posts), explain again why we can't it do "like we used to." We have one member that is stuck in the past. Checking had to change, he didn't like that. New laws for going into the sump, he doesn't like that. Having a person other than him in charge, he for sure doesn't like that. "When I was doing it" comes out every other sentence. He won't accept the correct answer, when you can get it in there.

The board doesn't want to have any conflict of interest, but it seems I get to do a lot of research for them. I can't do much legally because of Richard's position, but they sure don't hesitate to ask me look things up anyway. I guess that is what it feels like to be needed. I am learning to just present my findings, and maybe an opinion. Then it is up to the board. Of course, Rich hears it all first, and we discuss all the options. Then he is ready for the meetings. Sometimes, it takes all month to get the right info. I enjoy it anyway.

Next week, Richard gets to work on the sump again. The week after is when he starts all the medical stuff. I'll let him expound on that subject.

I still have some problems left from West Nile Virus. I am getting better at recognizing the symptoms and knowing when I will have "one of those days." Richard helps me deal with it on a daily basis. We have figured out that if I can play cribbage, then the day should be good. There are days when common sense enters the picture, and I stay home, or Rich drives everywhere. It's a good thing I don't have a "life".

More burn out tales

We went to mom and dad's on Saturday after the fire. I had packed some stuff in case I decided to stay. I did. Richard and Lucy went home without me. Mom and Dad were exhausted after all the hoopla, so tried to help. On Sunday, we made a list of lost items, besides the coach. Totaled over 5K but they were allowed only $3500, so had to do some paring and consolidating. Dad wanted every little item listed. Can do, Dad. Listed kitchen stuff, linens and bath, and then the bigger stuff.
This all may seem quick, but my father has to do things as he thinks of them, kinda like ADHD. I knew Rob got it from somewhere! Anyway, back to the story. Just to keep the peace, I took Dad around on Sunday and Monday to get his paperwork he wanted. The Friday of the fire, he got Mom's C-Pap machine replaced. NORCO loaned her one until they got another in. The new one came in on Thursday, she didn't like it and it didn't work well. Replaced it. So far so good.
On Sunday after the fire, we all went to Boise to do shopping for some essentials. Had lunch at the Olive Garden. We met Heather and the girls there. Dad was the odd man out. The only man. I had asked my brother Scott to babysit Dad, he couldn't. Then we all realized we needed Dad as he had the money cards. All Mom's burned up. Got wheelchairs for Mom and Dad, and went to the mall after lunch. Mom, Heather and I went to Macys, Lacey and Whitnee took Dad and went to Sears. Found what they were looking for, wore out mom and dad and went home.

Mom got up Monday morning and got started. If she doesn't have someone working with her, she tires easily. New drivers license in the late morning, new base ID in the afternoon. That was the end of her energy. Tuesday, we got moving by 10 to go to Boise for a new SSA card and Medicare. Visited with Mom's sister, Glenda, then went home. That was the end of that day.
Dad and I went to Wally World for some basics. He got Mom a phone, she didn't want it. New lotion, wrong stuff. And so it goes. They got replaced on the news by bigger stories, but still receive calls of condolences. Of Course, Dad had to tell everyone he saw and spoke to about the fire.

I am finally home, and enjoying it. I love my parents dearly, and would do anything to help them. I just need the weekend off please. Thankyou.

Richard worked on the pump system for the sewer district yesterday afternoon. When done, we took the rented ladder back, then stopped at RoeAnns. His cell rings, the alarm is going off at the pump station. Ate our food, headed back to the burb and fixed the pumps again. More coming later when they can replace one pump. The shit never stops around here. (get it?)

Richard is also getting ready for his vacation (hunting trip). Going food shopping today for supplies etc. Hope the trip is successful.

Hope all is well for everyone.

Toasted Motor Home

This is what happens when motor homes go bad. It gets reported on the news, stops traffic, and burns the sagebrush for 450 acres +.
Actually, this is my mom and dad's motor home today at 12:30. They were in a group going camping, the one in front pulled over, dad pulled over, the people behind came and got them out, then BOOM!! It blew up! Mom had heard something funny and commented to dad about it. Nobody knows what started the fire. Smoke from back while moving, and when they stopped, it filled the inside. My mom was more upset about losing all the food they had fixed for the next 4 days. Peaches and tomatoes, and Arby sandwiches. We will be going over early to see how they are for real, shock and all that neat stuff. Mom has been making a list of what they lost. Basics like toothbrushes, hair brush, pillows, her C-Pap machine, purse with keys and IDs and money and credit cards. Lisa says she goes back and forth from laughing to crying. At least Dad won't be driving any more big rigs, so there is that silver lining.
We were getting ready to go to Gale's for dinner, stopped at the Letha Store and found out that yesterday, the garbage truck caught on fire. Seems someone put hot stuff in their trash, it got picked up, and presto: fired up garbage truck.
What is this world coming to?
That is the latest. Later

Messenger Index does it again

In our paper box this morning, we found a new home town phone book put out by the local paper. This would be a nice thing, if they did it right. The first thing everybody in the world does when they get a new phone book, is check their own listing. Whether for spelling or the correct number, or address. So we opened the new book, and low and behold--WE ARE NOT IN THERE!
We start looking for other names from the Letha area. NOT IN THERE!! This is the 2nd time we have been excluded. Who ever does the proofreading of the book does not do their entire job. Called nicely last time, and the front desk says,"When you have an out of area number, it won't be in our book, or a number that is not Qwest." Since when is Letha an "out of area" and we do have Qwest? We replied that our address is actually an Emmet address, the first three digits of the phone number are 365 like most everybody else around here. On the front cover of the book is the headline "Serving Gem County, Sweet, Ola, Montour, and Letha". So, Mr. Tact (Richard) calls and tells the front desk he wants to speak to whoever is responsible. "Voice Mail?" "No, I want to chew her out in person." How many think that she will call back? Not me. I guess we will see.

Just Fuzz

Gale's first Beer, triggered what comes next. I was stationed in New Port on the USS Hawkins DD 873 as a mess cook with week end liberty. So,off to town I go to meet up with fellow mess cooks at a watering hole where someone who was 21 sneaked in a bottle of vodka, we all ordered cokes and started passing the bottle under the table the cokes just got clearer and clearer, it turned out to be a real short night. I was told the next day that I was crawling around on the floor try to look up some gals dress. The Shore Patrol showed up and I got a free ride back to the ship. I came to in my rack with nothing on but a smile. Not to mention a Huge hangover with an urge to pee. Crawled out and went up to the head. Sitting on the throne and saw this bucket with someones blues soaking in water. I reached and grabbed the blues to see whose name was on the tag, dam they was mine.
The ship pulled into Key west and over the PA system the word was passed that a softball game and cookout was being offered behind the Chiefs club. Steaks, Burgers, tons of Beer and the game was on, It should have been on tape, don't try running bases with and open beer it's like a foam explosion and you are out of beer before you get to third, if you get to third. Two more sloppy outs and it's our turn in the field. Beer in each pocket and burger in my mitt, I was on second. There's no safe places to put beer or burger and try to keep an eye on the ball.I don't remember the end of the game. But I do remember waking up in the the Motor whale Boat and the Ship was underway. OH shit!!! I then went down to the shop where I worked and in the door I went, every one turned and looked at me like I was from another planet. Where the hell have you been? We wrote you up for missing ships movement.
There are hundreds if not thousands more little stories, but the fog is a little thick. Except for this one. The USS Roark FF 1053 was in Subic and we had a ships party you know dancing girls and the whole shitteree, well things got very drunk out. The party started losing steam, so it was time to head for town. About a dozen of us jumped on a jitney headed for any open bar that would have us. There's one thing about Subic I don't think anyone has ever drank it dry, but that was our goal. After several attempts I stumbled outside and found this power pole that was falling over and I was holding it up. I don't know how long I had been there , I heard this , are you all right? I looked up and it was Phil , shit where did you come from, you look drunk, where's your ship? Come on let's get you back to your boat, You can't wander around like this, you might fall in shit river or worse. So I got him back on base, with no problems, off down the street we stumbled, looking for Phil's boat, as thing's worked out we found mine first. I guess Phil got back to his boat OK, I went to bed.
Well thanks Gale for the Beer induced memories, Royce could tell a few as well.

Playing with the Goldfish

On the top of this blog is the goldfish tank. We have discovered that if you put the arrow/cursor in the tank, they follow, Not only that, but if you click on the fish tank, little red dot thingies appear and the fish go after them.Must be web fish food. Rich spent time just playing with the fish. If they were real they would be really fat or dead from over feeding them. Ain't life grand?

We have been busy doing what seems to be nothing. Watched the game in bits and pieces. Watched the races without commercials as we record them first.

Been exercising daily. Rich looks really good!!! As for me, let's change the subject.

Rich has been working on getting the district running on full. Got new electrical box, added stuff to box, inspection, more stuff to box, need another inspection. Seems to go that way. Never done entirely correct the first time. Got our EIN for the district. Working on getting a non-profit status from the IRS. Looking at bids for the test required by DEQ next year. Curley just called, broke down at Tom's Cabin. Rich to the rescue! Phone rings again. Now he is taking Curley home. Don't know why. Will find out later.

Lacey is in school at Emmett High (Junior!!!). She is staying with Dirk's sister, Lori, and her family. I guess she is doing ok. When I speak to her on the phone, I get one word answers. Hard to carry a conversation that way.

Dog alert. Outside time. Later. Cathy

Sunday in Letha

I wonder why it is , that bumper stickers are so fascinating. I do believe it says a lot about the owner of the bumper. But then again, it could be an add on from a practical joker, or a gift from ones' significant other. Either way it's income for someone and something to cover all those dirty scratches on an other wise chrome bumper. Also gives one something to think about while waiting for the light to change. It's fun to be at the front of the line when the light changes but there's nothing to read. The only other alternative is to count people on their cell phones as they pass in front of you in the turn lane. Chocolate ice cream cone for the most counted, YAY RAH lets go for a drive. But back to bumper stickers. This the latest one I read.

Sex is not the answer

Cool huh ?? Yah I know get a life !! If you can come up with a better one let's hear it. Gotta go, time for Horse Power TV.

This is Emmy. To be precise, Bergie's Emmy Winner. Yes, she is registered. She is also 15 years old. Exactly 1 year younger than Oscar. Emmy follows us everywhere we go. Being blind, she stays close to our feet. Of course, that means we trip over her a lot. She follows us to the computer room, and lays on the floor behind me, so I have to make sure I don't step on her when I leave. She sleeps quite a bit. She snores. She sneezes and wheezes. But we love her.
She has always been consistent with her manner. Food first, anything else is second. Being blind and deaf and mostly toothless, if a hand touches her, the first thing she does is check for food by mouthing the hand. She is so set in this habit, that if I reach down to pick her up, no matter where we are at, she backs up so as to not miss the possible food. This has caused her to fall off the porch a couple times before I figured out a way to pick her up. I ambush her. I reach down with both hands out far enough and from above, that she can't see them coming and like a clamshell, I grab with both hands around her middle and hang on. She jumps cuz it startles her, but I cannot get her to hold still otherwise. I have to do this to help her up onto the chair to sit with me. Even being blind, she has figured how to get up in Richard's chair. He puts the foot rest of the recliner out at an angle and she climbs up between his feet, he puts the chair up the rest of the way, and she curls up between is feet. He has taught her this way because we are back to not being able to pick her up like a normal dog. Despite being blind and deaf and toothless, she is the healthiest dog of 15. She was Oscar's little sister. They were born from the same parents, just one year and one litter apart. Little Man and Minnie were the same, with Emmy as the mother and a black and tan (like Lucy) for a dad. His name was Taz. He was a cool dog, but entirely stupid and ignorant when Emmy was in heat.
Emmy and Minnie were just put to bed, as Rich has had enough of dogs sitting on him. It was too hot to go outside for long, so we vegetated in the house all day, watched the race and took a nap. All with dogs sitting on us. Lucy sleeps with us, the other two have the utility room and can go outside when they need to at night.
My turn to go to bed. Catch you all on the flip side.

Developements

I'm going Elk hunting this year I got lucky and drew a cow tag. Kirk, lugnut and I each drew tags for area 32A for the week of the 13th to the 24th of October. Camping out , eating out of bean cans ,sitting around the camp fire , lots of B.S. and wild story's and with any luck bring home the meat.

Went to a doctors appointment today and got lucky again, I get to go to radiation treatment after Elk hunting every day for seven and one half weeks. In the last three years my PSA has creeped up from 0.0 to 0.2 so we are going to shoot it till it stops or my guts are fried, sounds like fun , what do ya think ? Other than that still working out every day dropped over forty pounds, lifting weights and walking on the treadmill. I plan on being the best built 62 year old in letha, shouldn't be to hard not much competition. Well don't make any one mad you can't out run !

Awesome ... here by request

This is the kind of story you need when it seems like the world is spiraling out of control....
Not many people get a picture of this proud bird snuggled up next to them. Freedom and Jeff
Freedom and I have been together 10 years this summer. She came in as a baby in 1998 with two broken wings. Her left wing doesn't open all the way even after surgery, it was broken in 4 places. She's my baby. When Freedom came in, she could not stand and both wings were broken. She was emaciated and covered in lice. We made the decision to give her a chance at life, so I took her to the vet’s office. From then on, I was always around her. We had her in a huge dog carrier with the top off, and it was loaded up with shredded newspaper for her to lie in. I used to sit and talk to her, urging her to live, to fight; and she would lay there looking at me with those big brown eyes. We also had to tube feed her for weeks. This went on for 4-6 weeks, and by then she still couldn't stand. It got to the point where the decision was made to euthanize her if she couldn't stand in a week. You know you don't want to cross that line between torture and rehab, and it looked like death was winning. She was going to be put down that Friday, and I was supposed to come in on that Thursday afternoon. I didn't want to go to the center that Thursday, because I couldn't bear the thought of her being euthanized; but I went anyway, and when I walked in everyone was grinning from ear to ear. I went immediately back to her cage; and there she was, standing on her own, a big beautiful eagle. She was ready to live. I was just about in tears by then. That was a very good day. We knew she could never fly, so the director asked me to glove train her. I got her used to the glove, and then to Jesse, and we started doing education programs for schools in western Washington. We wound up in the newspapers, radio (believe it or not) and some TV. Miracle Pets even did a show about us.In the spring of 2000, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I had stage 3, which is not good (one major organ plus everywhere), so I wound up doing 8 months of chemo. Lost the hair - the whole bit. I missed a lot of work. When I felt good enough, I would go to Sarvey and take Freedom out for walks. Freedom would also come to me in my dreams and help me fight the cancer. This happened time and time again.Fast forward to November 2000, the day after Thanksgiving. I went in for my last checkup. I was told that if the cancer was not all gone after 8 rounds of chemo, then my last option was a stem cell transplant. Anyway, they did the tests; and I had to come back Monday for the results. I went in Monday, and I was told that all the cancer was gone. So the first thing I did was get up to Sarvey and take the big girl out for a walk. It was misty and cold. I went to her flight and jessed her up, and we went out front to the top of the hill. I hadn't said a word to Freedom, but somehow she knew.
She looked at me and wrapped both her wings around me to where I could feel them pressing in on my back (I was engulfed in eagle wings), and she touched my nose with her beak and stared into my eyes, and we just stood there like that for I don't know how long. That was a magic moment. We have been soul mates ever since she came in. This is a very special bird.I never forget the honor I have of being so close to such a magnificent spirit as Freedom.Hope you enjoy this.Jeff

Happy 4th of July

I wish our dinner yesterday looked and tasted like the photo. Come to think of it, it did taste like the photo. Dry, no flavor. Looked ok, but there you go. A guy we met at the gym and his wife brought out his favored steaks and marinade for us all to enjoy. Meat was really alright, just no flavor. He warned me about the maridade, but I couldn't taste anything. Instead of searing, he closed the lid and they all roasted. He has a good heart, so we ate. He and Richard have alot in common. Scarey, huh? Dave is alot more boisterous though. Dave's wife, Tracy, works at what used to be call the Pratt Ranch for Boys. It still functions in the same capacity, just for more affluent clients. 35 boys in all. 10k per month per kid. Wow. Tracy is the principal of the school. Most programs last 9 months. Dave works for the county weed control. All in all we had a very nice time.
Don't know about fireworks viewing as of yet. They will be shot off at the Gem Sports Island thingy. May just stay home and watch the dogs jump. Started last night, and Minnie jumped and shivered every time one went off. Lucy burrows into whatever and whoever she is with. Emmie is deaf, so she doesn't hear the booms.
You all stay safe and do the "ooh" and "ahh" stuff. Catch you later.
Oh, by the way, Rich is writing a letter to Aunt Vivian. If you have any messages, let him know.

The Fun Begins

So, now the fun starts. Had 2 meetings since being approved for the board. Had 5 phone calls from irate board members. Had 1 big blow up at the president of the board for gossiping, and the hits just keep on coming. We have been researching the legal status of the district. Found no records of filings with the IRS but we have and EIN (employer id number) and no "employees". All new paperwork to file with the state for "nonprofit utility" and the trailer that houses the office is a disaster. Nothing is in any sense of order. Estimates coming for new electrical panel, while Richard tries to keep the pumps running the s--t flowing with old and new tech running together in the panel. So he is juggling the appts and fixes. Our saving grace is being able to work out each morning. Great way to work off stress and frustration.
Had a nice visit with everyone on Friday. Will post photo of face plate with the additions on it as soon as we get one.
Still thinking positive for "the boy" and his Mama. Never any rest the moms.

Mom's can

I was not kidding about putting Mom in a plastic coffee can, it's perfect! Probably considered tacky in some circles, but Mom being from the sand hills of Colorado where a person used what they had to make do. She would get a hoot out of this. Don't forget Dad liked his coffee too.

FLOOD!

We used to ride our motorcycles down in there to see the river. Easier from the road now as the river has come to us.
This was taken from our front yard. Looks like a funnel cloud.

Water is just a few inches from the bottom of the Letha bridge.

This the pasture the owner was getting ready to mow for hay. Now they have to replace fences and hope the grass comes back quickly.

This is just a small sample of what is happening. More water expected from upstream, as the clouds are going north and dumping on McCall area and filling the dams and rivers with all sorts of junk. Trees, mud, rocks, trash. If you get a chance, check out Gem County Facebook page.
Later ya'll.

Mom's Muligan

Just got home from Potters and the date is the 18th of June at 11:oo am at the niche where Dad is. No ceremony just a short get together and we are done. How about lunch after things are all done, I vote we invade Gale's for a BBQ . Now if you can't make it, don't feel bad no ones going to hold your toes to the fire. Royce if you can't make it there is always UPS. ;) We need to decide on what to put on the cover under Dad's info , keeping in mind there is not much room.

Dads

Went to see Shorty yesterday. Gave him fair warning. "Guess who's coming to dinner?" No explosions. No lightning strikes. So I guess all is well. After, we went to my grandparents graves, then to Emmett for the other grandparents. As we were looking for the Horns, a large group (at least 40) bikers gathered to pay respects to a fallen comrade. I think it was "Sam". They parked in the middle of the road, and it's skinny anyway, walked over the grave, hugged each other, turned around and left. Held up the traffic for a good 5 minutes.
We found the Horns after a little work, then drove right to the Berglunds'. Paul and Wanda had left flowers.
Called my dad and spoke with him for a few. He was feeling a little edgy about the surgery, and a little testy too. To be expected. My aunt and uncle were in Boise on their way to Washington, so mom and dad were thinking about going to dinner with them. They ended up not going as mom's blood sugar was too high and she felt like heck.
This afternoon, we are going to Gale's for a BBQ. Someone else cooking, yeah!
Have to go fix breakfast with Richard. We have a system. One cooks eggs, one does toast. So you all have a great Memorial Day. Home workout day, too.

The Reunfication of Ma and Pa

Called Potter's today in conference with Vets Cemetery. Dates and times are pretty much open during the week of Cherry Festival. (June 17-19)We figure the time should be around 11 a.m. so as to not be so hot. Our options are: we can have a small memorial at the shelter where we had dad's (in which case we cannot go to the niche) or we can have a small get together at the niche, say whatever, at which time mom's ashes would be placed with dad's and the cover placed by the attendants. That would be it, done. That's it in a nutshell. Fast. Sweet. Simple.
I would like your input ASAP as I need to tell Potter's on the Tuesday (June 1st).

It'a Official. He WON!

27 votes to 9. A landslide victory. For Letha anyway. 10 votes were wasted by a write in not eligible. So added together, out of 50 households on the sewer, 46 people voted. About 1/2. Now the fun starts. First meeting is June 8.

Election Day!!!!!!

It's here. Wish it were over sooner, but we will know by 8:30 tonight or so.
Wish Richard luck.
Bye.

Election Day in 3 days and counting down

And the craziness continues. Several weeks ago, we found some voting booths (of all things) on the Musick Auction. We bought 8 of them for 5 bucks! Sold them to the Letha Sewer President ( he was impressed, hah) and they will use them for the election. They are really handy machines. Very plain, 4 collapsible legs, and a light with cord, 2 folding sides and the whole thing folds up into a briefcase-like container. Well, the things have a punch (hanging chads) system in the bottom of the case, and all thought there would have to be an insert made to make it flat for us to use. We said we would get a piece of plywood or whatever for the "judge" to make the table tops cuz the resident pain-the-ass handy man hadn't done that yet and the guy in charge of the election was panicking. But it seems the makers thought of everything. The bottom comes out and flips over for a flat surface! Before we discovered this jewel of info, the resident "Chicken Little" cried fowl (hahahaha) about us setting the things up at the voting site. We had no intentions of doing that, just get the surface board to make it flat, which is a moot point now. Talk about petty shit. This place is really full of it. Richard has a saying he taught the kids early on, "Don't sweat the petty shit, and don't pet the sweaty shit." Good sound advice for those who cry wolf. Are We Having Fun Yet???
This past 2 weeks, we have been at the county office learning about what the district could do and what it could not do. Every day a new challenge.
Just this past Wednesday, the local gossip chain has informed us of a secret. If Rich wins the election, the board will ask for the resignation of a board member and then appoint Lee as a "new" member. This was told to the local town crier who was asked to keep it a secret. Like that was gonna happen. Less than 2 minutes after learning this "secret", we were told. We figure this is just BS to keep us off on some other tangent. WE just laughed. Small town politics.
time to go work out.

Free Range Chickens or The Little White Hen who Could

Last winter, a person moved out from down the road. They left 2 goats, some dogs, cat, and some chickens. Well, the local constable gathered up all the animals (Noah's Ark anyone?) but the chickens, they couldn't catch them. Long story short, all but two did not make it through the winter. The two that did, rooster and hen, where all over the place. Still unable to catch them. They could fly and roosted in the trees. The first time Rich mowed the back 4o, 2 two weeks ago or so, he told me about a little white hen on a nest. He had seen next door neighbors trying to catch bird, so he thought it was theirs. Phone call says "No". The little white hen left several messy spots on their patio while eating the cat's food. "We don't want her." I told Richard the Lloyds don't want her and could not catch her, so he announces that he knows how to catch chickens and to watch this. He sneaks up on her from behind, (nest is in the corner of back fence), with covering in both hands. Chicken too smart for him and he fails to gather her in too. She had over a dozen eggs in her nest. We logically leave her alone to hatch babies and tell neighbors about plan. When she is nesting, we will try to catch her again and take her around the corner to a man who has egg layers. He can have her. She survived through the winter, she sat through all the horrible weather last week, wind, snow flurries, rain, more wind, frost. We looked out there every morning, "chicken still there." Sunday morning, chicken still there, a few minutes later, we hear a gun shot. Went outside to look, no chicken on nest but saw next door neighbor. I asked if he got what he shot at. Yes, white chicken was no more. Ka blooey! Close range shot blew up chicken. Nothing left. Now eggs in nest are feeding the cats. No more free range chickens at our house.

Happy Mothers' Day Y'All

Telling all moms out there "HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY" today because I plan to be out of the house all day tomorrow. Yard calls, so Sunday as a day of rest means the rest of the yard needs care. My grass is spotty, the weeds are invading, and the hoses need patching. Mowed yesterday, and only in a few spots could you tell the mower had been there. There was enough oddball spots, that I couldn't wait to mow. Now, I am watering the heck out of it so I can do this again next week.

We also put up our solar lights that had been stashed for 3 years. Rich put the holders on the fence posts, I cleaned the lights, and we turned them on this morning. Hope they recharge and work ok.

Spoke to Ellen. She and Leo are extremely busy, so all we could do was visit. It was a nice visit.

Rich and a neighbor went over to Bob's (Judy) house, Letha School, and mowed for him. He has stayed in the house most since Judy passed. He must have heard the mowers going, cuz Rich said he came out and started his mower and helped finish the job. It took all three of the mowers to do that in a timely manner. Big yard.

We are still working out daily. Rich is down to 218!!!! Yeah Rich!!!

Campaign still on track. I'm not sure if I want Rich to win or not. Damned if we do.....you know the rest. If he doesn't, well we will cross that bridge too.

Rich changed the truck over to Amsoil about 3 weeks ago. Mileage already improving. We can tell by the computer in the ceiling. Sure is nice ride. Only thing it doesn't have is an auto tranny. Leather seats, w/heaters!! Best thing ever invented for cool mornings. This is the first step in our goal. Getting out of Letha!!! by the time we can go, we'll be too old!

My dad is going in for surgery again. this time, for a spleenectomy (?) and removing the tail of his pancreas. Tumors found, don't know status of them. Won't until after. He has to have three vacines before surgery, wait 4 weeks, then see surgeon again to set date. Soo much fun. I went with him to the last appt. I asked the dr. to explain briefly. He got a little testy about me asking. Said I should have at other appts. I told him (nicely) that I had not known of this situation as Dad was not exactly forth coming with info. He sat down and gave me a briefing. I'm a little worried for Dad. His age and health are problems. One doc put it like this."The body on this model is out of warranty." That about says it all.

Have a good day everyone. Catch you on the flip side!

And the Winner is........

Gale!!! The pot goes home. She received her urn (vase, whatever you call it) tonight after dinner. Rich called to see if we could bring it in after dinner, she asked where we were going and if they could come. Sure. Bejing. So Gale, Justin and Paul came down. They were late, and we were getting concerned. When they came in, the reason they were late? Justin's car got backed into. In front of the house. Paul was worried about his car, so moved it in front of the window. He could watch if someone hit him he says. Learned about Jen and Paul's roommate. Quite a situation. And Gale? I like your new look. Different, but nice. Here's to the winner of the contest and her glasseslessness. (How do you like that word?) Congrats.

Campaign 2010 has begun

It's official. Rich started his campaigning today. He is going door to door speaking to any resident that is eligible to vote. The King is in the House!!!
Hopefully, this goes off without much of a hitch. It's time to clean house (sewer board) and Rich is pushing the dirt out the door. He has stirred up so much brew-ha-ha (?) that the clerks hide when we show up at the courthouse. Not really. Journalistic license. But things are starting to get interesting. Stay tuned to this channel, news at eleven.

No Phone-It's gone.

Richard is not one to worry about cell phones, etc. When I looked for his phone because it was telling us it was needing to be charged, I found it in his coat pocket. The phone tells me it has a text message. I open it, and here is this message from T-Mobile that the owner of this phone has until 4-15 to add minutes to the contract, or lose them. I asked Rich if he saw the message. "Hell no. What message?" So I explain to him what was there, and he hits the roof. "I paid for those minutes, they cannot take them away, they are mine.!!!" So this morning, he calls T-Mobile and tells them off after several minutes, then hangs up on them. He started the morning with a headache, so I asked him if he felt better? He grins up at me and say "Yes." So as of today, I guess he no longer has a cell phone number or minutes. He is immensely glad. He hates phones anyway, and the cell phone was just for emergency. No more emergencies for him.
We have a couple of appts. in Boise today, so catch you later.

Little Man Eulogy

Thank you all for the sentiments. It is a mixed curse and blessing for us. Little Man was just a dog, but he had a heart of gold, and lifted leg. We sure do miss him. His loss is felt deeply, especially after losing Oscar. We have all girls now, and they feel the absence also.

Today was a day of moving on. I asked Richard to remove the protective plastic from around the door and washer/dryer, then I cleaned up the last remnants of Little Man's folly. In the end, he could do no more than wet on his front legs and the floor. I washed all the dog beds and blankets, put them outside to air out and dry, and mopped the floor of the utility room with disinfectant and 409. Clean slate.

Time to fix dinner, I had to let this set for awhile as I had to collect my thoughts after starting.

Have a good evening all.

OMG!! Stop the presses!!!

The world is stopping, it's snowing in Hell, and Richard has figured out how to Skype!! Thank you Carla and Gale. Now he's speaking to Phillip about getting on line. Never thought I would see the day, but it has arrived. Now we have to convince my dad and mom, Lisa, and the girls to get a camera and we can all have fun making sure we are dressed and combed just in case the computer rings. No skin shows here. We'd scare off the world. Spoke with Carla for about 30 minutes and had a great time. Gonna go now and see who else we can see to talk to. LOL

Happy Easter everybody!!

We have had several comments from a "Mike" about being a blog favorite and wanting to do an interview. Anyone know about this guy? He must be reading the "King of Letha " stories. Richard does like to ramble on when he is mad.

Haven't found the bowl so I have given up. As for the mind, I have a t-shirt that states "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most." Fitting I suppose. Got that t-shirt and another with the definition of stress on it when I use to drive school bus. One little lady rider asked me if I needed help. She was worried about getting home if I couldn't find my mind. Kids are great. They bring you back to earth. The shirt with the stress definition is not suitable for the younger crowd, so never wore it where they could see it. Language is something the school district regulates strictly.

Tax season is almost over, we have one more day at the Senior Center and we are done. As this winds down, the driver safety courses start. I do these things because it is something I can do and feel good about helping. There are no bossy bosses, just other volunteers, and it gets me out with people. I cannot just stay home and clean house. (I don't clean house anyway) I feel I can at least help someone and that is what life is about. Or should be anyway.

We were playing on the computers this morning and heard the unmistakable sounds of a dog fight. I head for the front room, and Lucy is leaving with her dignity bruised. Emmy, the old lady of the group, put Lucy in her place. Lucy has been bullying the others and Emmy finally got tired of it. She can't see or hear well, but she stood up for herself. We sure miss Oscar. Every now and then, I tear up and have to look away from Rich. If he sees me, it is very hard on him too. I just picture him in Heaven with Virginia (or where ever) on her lap as she pushes him off and he gets right back up again. He was persistent. She wouldn't let Oscar stay with her, but Lucy and her struck a chord. I had never seen her take to a dog, and Lucy is known for being very stand-offish (the word bitch fits her well). The two of them became friends, and Virginia asked about her whenever we went over. She enjoyed the dog!! Is the contest still open for a urn for Virginia? Richard and I went to a yard sale and bought a large urn that we thought would be suitable. Picture to follow when I can get one taken.
Well, I have rambled on enough. Catch you. Oh, and Happy Easter all.

Looking for something big

I can't find a bowl. It is a very large plastic bowl called a "Lock and Lock" and all I can find is a top. I had two tops, so I am assuming the other is with the bowl. I can't remember what I did with it so I am asking for help. Did I loan it to anyone, or did I forget it at Virginia's or at the reunion? I am hoping someone out there remembers seeing it or has it. It is about 10.5 inches in diameter and holds about 5.3 quarts. I tried to put a photo of it on here, but it wouldn't transfer. If you want to see what it looks like, go to QVC.com and look up item K20959. Richard and I both think I am losing my mind, so this is a last ditch effort to find the darn thing.

Thank you for reading and all help is appreciated.

Lots happening

This past week, I have been down with a nasty sinus infection that turned into (maybe started as) a virus known as RSV. Have been coughing my insides out. Antibiotics got rid of the sinus infection, but the cough lingers. Richard is now following in my footsteps, just not as severely. Heather and the girls came over last Sunday and we schemed to have a birthday party for my dad on this Saturday. I am still coughing hard when I cough, just not as often as I was, so hopefully tomorrow will go off without a hitch. I haven't worked out for a week, and didn't go into the Sr. center to volunteer for AARP Tax aide. The AARP does a great service for low income and elderly that cannot afford a paid preparer. I contribute my time doing this and Driver Safety Program. For being retired, I seem to keep very busy. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Richard took the 58 Ford up to the transmission guy today. Seems like the person who put the truck together, screwed up the rod that goes to the tranny to tell it when to shift. Hopefully that is all that is needed to be fixed. We shall see.

At the above mentioned party, we will celebrate Heather's birthday also. Hers was the 11th. My mother is bringing over a bunch of stuff she says is mine. So we will return the favor by taking them cans, pots and pans and misc. kitchen stuff for Lisa. She moved into the house next to my mom and dad. I like having her close if they need something quickly. She is a pretty good thing to have around.

So, everyone....how has your Month of March going?

Chinese Dinner

After working all day in the house spring cleaning, I offered to buy Richard dinner. I was hungry for a salad, and he agreed. So we hop in Zoom Zoom and head to town eagerly anticipating this wonderful salad. Unfortunately, the Blue Ribbon was closed. They are usually open on Sundays, so we didn't call ahead. Maybe we should have. Anyway, we turned around and headed out to the Cold Mountain. On the way up Washington, Rich sees the Beijing (Chinese food) and comments that maybe with their new building, they had better food than the last time. (Really bad last time) So the spirit of adventure wins out, we turn around again, and have a very nice dinner. The service was sparse, but the food has improved a lot. Don't have to go over the hill to get chinese food now.

County Commissioners will be in Letha tomorrow night, so we get local government at it's best.

Rich is running for the sewer board, but then you knew that. He eats, drinks, and sleeps sewer business. Getting all his do's and don'ts sorted out and in place. We may have to have a recall election if the new board chairman doesn't stand up to the past chairwoman, which is now the vice chair. Ring around the Rosy! All the same people, except for one, in new positions is all. The newest member (appointed last meeting when the ex-sec/treas. quit) is a past chairman, dating back to when his daughter-in-law embezzled from the district. (She was the sec/treasurer at that time.) He has had two heart attacks in the last two years, and still works his cattle hauling business full time. The old saying "Everything old is new again" rings true here. The new sec-treas. is behind on her sewer bill, and is related by marriage to the past chairwoman that Rich is trying to get off the board. May the "King of Letha" prevail. (Whoever named him that may have created a monster.)

Hope you all have a good week ahead. For being retired, we sure are busy.

chapter 2 continuation

In the infamous words of the King of Letha, here's the rest of that last sentence I screwed up, and the rest of chapter two.

You cut the locks. I hand VC the bolt cutters and he says how do these work. I guess it's a damn good thing layman do all the real work, I wonder how he got his drivers licence. Ok Ok ! Well he gets the lock cut on the pump station cover and we open it up, sure enough , water is about four feet from the top, this is a 25 ft deep hole. Time to pump it out. Still one lock to go , on the control box. I hit the manual switch and start both pumps. It's going to take about two hours for this much water to go down, cause of all the water backed up in the pipes all over town. When the water gets down where I can see the pumps and the hanging switches , I can see that MD lied about cleaning them , their are all balled up with crap. VC look at this MD screwed us again. Were not going to pay this asshole are we I ask, it's time for him to go. VC has this really worried look on his face, so I let that slide. I take the locks home so I can weld them for further service. Saves money, that's a joke. Anyway MD finally shows up with an electrician this time,( Dumb ass) They had to replace two switches and clean the other two. These four trips to fix one problem cost the sewer dristrict $4000.00 But i didn't find this out till about three weeks later at the BM meeting. I was pissed and I let them know how I felt, MD is a RIP OFF and you keep paying him for shit work. What the hell is wrong with you people your supposed to be taking care of the people of Letha and their money. Who the fuck side are you on. Get real!!!!! MD says I'm not afraid of you I'll prosecute you for interfering with Letha sewer business. MD you need to shut the fuck up you don't live here, you have no say. That's when he stands up,I'm thinking that's good for a man that's disabled, wounder what else he's lied about. MD's wife grabs his arm and says sit down honey you need this job it's the only account we have left. Not for long if I can help it!!! Meetings over I go home. That was in May. Chapter three starts in December and hasn't played it self out yet, so I'm still taking notes. Ugly thing's are coming down , possible prison time for a certain BM.

Happy trails

Chapter 2

Same warning as before, just toned down a hair, no more c word, Chairperson will be CP ,Secretary treasure will be ST, Vise Chair will be VC, Board member BM, Father in law BH and pay trons or victims PV, as for me well I'm just me. Almost forgot, Maintenance Dude MD. BM can also mean bowel movement.

Now here it is several years later and I still don't want to be involved. BUT, where our house sets on the sewer line, if anything happens at the pump station and we stop pumping ,the water backs up, we are the first to know cause our throne bubbles and burps so I call CP she Calls MD, he drives all the way over from Kuna for $85.00 per hour. RIP OFF !!! Anyway MD says HE found a couple of Wires Burnt off ,so he cleans off the ends and puts them back where they were, starts pump and drives home. The pump ran until he got to the highway and stopped, second day same problem, MD is back I don't know what he did this time, but he didn't have an electrician with him. This dude is a real piece of work and CP feels sorry for him cause he's disabled and has a young baby to feed. He's also her buddy and backup. I also think she is taking a payoff but I can't prove it. So pump is runing more water gets pumped down this time so it lasts longer but not by much. Third times a charm or so I've heard. MD is back still stuck on stupid, this time he says he pulled the four hanging switches and cleans them. ? Water tight switches on the end of power cords that when the water level rises , switch closes and powers pump, simple ,or not. Anyway over time, about four mounths crap builds up on said switches and no power to pump. Monday morning throne is working or so I thought, Wife screams we got bubbles,Damn!!!!!! Icall CP not home no cell phone to cheep. ST, VP and BM'S no can find, SHIT!!!!! Don't have MD's number. What's up with that shit I am pissed. Wife is having problems and needs throne room. Time for super hero to take over and get this shit working. I grab my bolt cutters jump on 4 wheeler and head over to pump station, I go by all the BM's houses no one home or they are afraid to answer the door. Arriving at pump station, I know full well if I touch anything thats a felony, Setting on trusty 4 wheeler Cell phone to ear, wife have you got ahold of anyone yet, about that time VC drives around corner and is coming my way, I wave him down. What's up super hero? Pump's not working again, says I. What do you mean again??? So I explain it to him. Crap he says CP never tells me anything. Do you have keys we need to start the pumps manualy? No he's says.Well I have bolt cutters. He backs up about ten feet shaking his head and turning kinda pale. Oh boy I don't know if I can do that. CP will have me for lunch. O shit VC grow a set and man up or CP isn't going to get anything but leftovers. OK VC says what do we do ? Not me dude

Time to Vent

Fair warning to all, it is time for me to vent, and the Mirror just doesn't work any more. Now I will be using some very colorful language, the c word is one of them. However, this is directed at one particular female on our local sewer board. So if you have sensitive ears or take offence to all the derogatory terms that I have running through my head then please read no further. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Several years ago I was dumb enough to be talked into filling an opening on the sewer board. Damn this was good,I can give a little back. All was well for the first year or so I though(dumb ass) little did I realize that my warped sense of humor or my straight forward up front, tell the truth approach was pissing off the cunt in the chairpersons seat. Now understand this is a volunteer position, no pay, my time! I was working about 20 hours per week, and some weekends, doing maintenance and repairs that were long past due. My only goal was to have a system that would serve the town of Letha well into the future, with regular maintenance, and very little cost. My goal was in sight and I'm thinking the rest was going to be easy. Life got in the way and the shit hit the fan.
There was this asshole who was over $1000.00 behind on his sewer bill and no way to get a hold of him but I tracked him down. I told him who I was and what I called him for and ask if he could come to a meeting and make arrangements for payment. He said sure he would be there. The motherfucker never showed up. About two weeks later he shows up on my doorstep, drunk. I told him I could not help him that he would have to come to a meeting and talk to the board, that I was just a board member and had only one vote. Again this piece of shit never showed. Now this motherfucker has a set of balls the size of a elephant. What he did was rent his front yard out to this unsuspecting fool in an old piece of shit camp trailer, then digs down to the sewer line and hooks in. No permit, no permission, he's behind himself and charging rent with an illegal sewer hook up. I find out about this about two months into this deal and go check it out. Surprised the shit out of me. So I knocks on the door this old man about 100 or so sticks his head out and blows pot smoke in my face. Now I don't mind that so much but the bad breath was almost deadly. I ask him about the sewer hook up and did he know it was illegal, and that it had to be unhooked. Damn don't piss off old dudes that are fucked up. The dude steps out side wearing nothing but his skivvies and I'm thinking this is not going well. He says who the fuck are you and what the fuck you mean illegal, and then he drops his joint. He's down on his hands and knees looking. It's time for me to leave. So I go find the head cunt and tell her about the illegal hook up. She says she is going to check it out and for me to go on home.( Hee Hee Hee) I says OK and leave. About two days later the rentee turns up at the head cunts house drunk. Starts bitchin and talking law suit, and telling the head cunt that I told him I was the sewer board chairman and all kinds of other shit and she believes him. And that's when the shit hits the fan. Well the head cunt throws all this up in my face at the next sewer board meeting. You could have Knocked me over with a feather, I was that shocked and for one of the only times in my life, at a loss for words. So I sat quiet for all of about three seconds and told her and the board that they should know me well enough by now to know I don't do shit like that. I'm thinking to my self , what the fuck is this shit all about? After the meeting I'm walking out to my truck and the head cunt comes storming out the door and gets in my face and starts screaming and spitting like a cat with vice grips on it's tail. Now, by damn I've had enough, I don't hit her but I told her if she didn't shut her fucking mouth I was going to rip her fucking head off and shit in it. She slaps her hand over her mouth and backs up about four steps and starts in again, by then the rest of the board members are standing around watching and waiting to see if there's going to be any blood to clean up. One of the board members grabs the head cunt and puts her in her car and I go home, It takes me a couple of hours to cool down. So I stay out in the shop and think this through and I'm still at a loss. What the fuck did I do to piss that bitch off ? I mean in the first place, not just a couple hours ago. So two days go by and I'm still running this shit over and over in my head. Back to work , illegal sewer hook up has to go. I don't have any info on this motherfucker so I go to town and the P an Z office. They will not give any one any thing unless you file a complaint. So I did as a private citizen not as sewer board member, which is my right. Well they couldn't find any info on this motherfucker so they send it to the Letha sewer board to take care of, well when the head cunt See's this she comes unglued. She calls up and asks if she and the secretary can come over and talk , I don't think much of it ,about three minutes later there's a knock on the door wife lets them in. Head cunt walks in and stands in the middle of my living room and is waiving this complaint form around and accuses me of having a vendetta against motherfucker. I couldn't even get out of my chair, I was power less, but it didn't take me long you can bet your ass on that, and I had enough. I told the head cunt she could take her sewer board and stuff it in her ass . and you know what that is exactly what she wanted she sucked me in like a rookie. That's a dumb shit. Now this is the end of the first chapter, and there's a whole lot more to come. So this is the King of Letha signing off for now.
