Dreams Do Come True, in due time.

I don't know if any of you knew this, but when Richard came home from the Navy, his plan was to wait until the folks were gone, then leave. He had it planned to get a big truck and 5th wheel and go traveling. I changed some of that. The time line was skewed a little.

Flash forward in time to March 2010. We go looking for a pickup. I thought we would be looking at regular trucks. I had no idea it would be a 1 ton dually. Rich, on the other hand, knew exactly what he was looking for, and got it. One piece of the dream down, several to go.

Filing for Social Security. Richard did that in Sept. It starts in January. Next piece completed.
Found a 5th wheel hitch and tailgate on the auction.Who woulda thunk it? Musick Auction, your dad's favorite place to be on Saturday mornings. Another piece completed.

Find a 5th wheel or trailer. Thought we had done that. 2001 Prowler by Fleetwood. Problem: no financing. Reason: manufacturing plant is no longer in existence, so no parts if needed, plus the age of the unit. This ended up being ok with us after the initial let down. This is a very big unit. Too much for us really.

Checked out the Internet. Actually found something we liked. Had to go look at it. So after Richard got "microwaved" yesterday, we took a ride to Nelsons in Nampa/Caldwell. Didn't really want to go to Boise, but they are the same dealership, just different brands, so ended up going over to Boise anyway. Looked at the model we liked on the Internet, did the ooh and aah thing, and decided we liked it enough to buy it. On "sale" even. While we waited for the salesman to get a brochure, we did some looking at other units close by. We found a bigger unit for a lot more money, scratched that one off the list of possibility's, then found one a little bigger than the first one and fell in love, maybe lust, and changed horses in mid stream. So when all is said and done, we got the middle sized one. Richard traded his motorcycle. I'll say it again. Richard gave up the motorcycle!!! That's when I knew this was for real. We used the equity in it and the little red car and made a big down payment and arranged financing for the rest. We sign the papers and pick it up on Friday afternoon after another "microwaving".(This "microwaving" is a daily thing until the Monday after Christmas. He gets Thanksgiving Day, Christmas day and weekends off.) Almost all the pieces are put together.

So Here it is. A Greystone by Heartland. 3 slides; 32 feet long; fireplace under the TV; It's "beautimus" as Richard calls her. Making plans for travel next spring. Just might drop in on a few of you.

Very cool, you need to map out all of the parking spots with sewer everywhere. There is an RV park along the river in Coqulle. Do come visit Oregon, you will LUV it. R

Visiting you and your hubby is definitely on our list. We have decided to take the next few months to outfit the "Queen" and get us road ready. Then the sky is the limit!
