Bathroom Redo - Redux

Almost done here. The shower door will be clear and frameless, there are 2 mirrors in the tile field, plus 2 corner shelves on each corner and 1 soap dish. Shelves are being held up with tape till dry.

This is where the measurements say to add the shelves. I know, the photos are bassackwards but I am still learning how to do this crazy blog.
Along with the bath redo, we are getting ready for our yard sale this weekend. Lots of stuff like bar stools, tables, ceiling fans, dishes, appliances, etc. that you find in most yard sales. Pretty soon I will have to go to town to get change for this fiasco. Gale might bring the Trug out for show and tell. Maybe we can find a buyer .
Cola looks like he is fitting in well and seems to be handling all the hoopla. He is a well mannered puppy and loveable as well. He scared me half to death yesterday when I couldn't find him. He was hiding really good. He would not come out until the other dogs talked him into it.
More pictures later, maybe even in the right order!

New bathroom and Gale's new Cola

We are having a bathroom redo also. We have been waiting for this since forever! Old tub was hard to get into and out of due to size so we contracted for B4TV Construction to do the work. He has the new shower base in, and is waiting for the cement under it to dry so he can start the tile work. Should be done and ready to use by Friday. I'm taking in account any unforseen problems.

We also got the first photos of Cola with his new Mom last night. Don't they make a pretty pair?
Have to go into town now to check on the little one, as per Mom's request, so we will catch you on the flip side.

Project DONE!! Next?

'65 Ford Galaxy exits the shop! My part is done and it's going home. Runs good, goes forward and backwards, looks like shit, needs body and paint work, interior and top, also needs new owner. For sale cheap! $4500.00. You all know what Ford stand for, right? "Fix or repair daily." "Found on road dead." "First on race day." and my personal favorite "Fucking owner's really dumb!!!"

Next project: completion of Clay's cycle. purchased lift yesterday and am putting it together after I finish this blog. Now I can get it up in the air where I can work on it. Then it's on to getting ready for our yard sale. List to follow when we figure one out. Everything that is not growing out of the ground, or tied down, is going away. Then we will plant some fruit trees. Fruits for the fruits. (I said it first and let there be no doubt that looney tunes are alive and well.)

Speaking of looney tunes, Charlie Chicken, aka Foghorn Leghorn, is going to the car show with us tomorrow. He will ride with his head sticking out of the sun roof. This is a stuffed rooster that is about 5 feet tall sitting down, and 6 feet in diameter. Have to do some repair to his head as the stuffing is getting out. By the way, he's the perfect companion for any kind of event in Emmett-by-God America. Just sits there and smiles sweetly, doesn't have a lot to say but you always know what he's thinking. Use your imagination on that one. Photos to follow of the show.

Mitch's Turn

Hello again! Didn't want anyone to think that Carla was all alone in her endeavors. She has this great husband. He cooks, does the tour guide thing, makes the best drinks, is a wine connoisseur, and is the consummate host. Mitch and Carla drove us all over Seattle, working together in the front seat. (Didn't think I noticed did you?) This man is also a good carpenter, destroyer of bathrooms, gardener, ex-bus driver. What a background. Only in America.

He and Carla have a partnership than many could envy. After all the trials and tribulations of life, they have found each other and have a daughter that is beautiful to boot. Mitch is fun loving, intelligent, caring and one helluva good person all around. Just the perfect mate for my sister. Mitch and Carla, we hope that all your dreams come true and sincerely appreciate each of you.

I'm Back

Don't pay the ramsom I escaped. Running wild and free and even that is expensive. Just spent a wonderful weekend an Carla's, doing the tourist thing, and soaking up the hospitality of their bed and breakfast. The fireworks were cool, the trees had kind of a filtering effect. The Space Needle was a hoot, 41 seconds to the top watching the ground fall away. Even got a good shot of a helicopter from the top down instead of the bottom up. Went to the Market Place and it was elbow-to-elbow. Nobody got lost, but it sure would have been easy. Found out that smoked salmon was $29 per pound, Yikes!!! Carla finally got her buffalo, sorry lil sister, but life has a way of getting in the way. And then we had to come home. By the time we got to Pendleton, we had the air conditioner in the car on, and everything was hot, dry, and dusty. The dogs were glad to see us, except for Minnie. She is still pouting. So I have had to be extra nice to her. She's coming around slowly but surely.
