And the Winner is........

Gale!!! The pot goes home. She received her urn (vase, whatever you call it) tonight after dinner. Rich called to see if we could bring it in after dinner, she asked where we were going and if they could come. Sure. Bejing. So Gale, Justin and Paul came down. They were late, and we were getting concerned. When they came in, the reason they were late? Justin's car got backed into. In front of the house. Paul was worried about his car, so moved it in front of the window. He could watch if someone hit him he says. Learned about Jen and Paul's roommate. Quite a situation. And Gale? I like your new look. Different, but nice. Here's to the winner of the contest and her glasseslessness. (How do you like that word?) Congrats.

Campaign 2010 has begun

It's official. Rich started his campaigning today. He is going door to door speaking to any resident that is eligible to vote. The King is in the House!!!
Hopefully, this goes off without much of a hitch. It's time to clean house (sewer board) and Rich is pushing the dirt out the door. He has stirred up so much brew-ha-ha (?) that the clerks hide when we show up at the courthouse. Not really. Journalistic license. But things are starting to get interesting. Stay tuned to this channel, news at eleven.

No Phone-It's gone.

Richard is not one to worry about cell phones, etc. When I looked for his phone because it was telling us it was needing to be charged, I found it in his coat pocket. The phone tells me it has a text message. I open it, and here is this message from T-Mobile that the owner of this phone has until 4-15 to add minutes to the contract, or lose them. I asked Rich if he saw the message. "Hell no. What message?" So I explain to him what was there, and he hits the roof. "I paid for those minutes, they cannot take them away, they are mine.!!!" So this morning, he calls T-Mobile and tells them off after several minutes, then hangs up on them. He started the morning with a headache, so I asked him if he felt better? He grins up at me and say "Yes." So as of today, I guess he no longer has a cell phone number or minutes. He is immensely glad. He hates phones anyway, and the cell phone was just for emergency. No more emergencies for him.
We have a couple of appts. in Boise today, so catch you later.

Little Man Eulogy

Thank you all for the sentiments. It is a mixed curse and blessing for us. Little Man was just a dog, but he had a heart of gold, and lifted leg. We sure do miss him. His loss is felt deeply, especially after losing Oscar. We have all girls now, and they feel the absence also.

Today was a day of moving on. I asked Richard to remove the protective plastic from around the door and washer/dryer, then I cleaned up the last remnants of Little Man's folly. In the end, he could do no more than wet on his front legs and the floor. I washed all the dog beds and blankets, put them outside to air out and dry, and mopped the floor of the utility room with disinfectant and 409. Clean slate.

Time to fix dinner, I had to let this set for awhile as I had to collect my thoughts after starting.

Have a good evening all.

Sad News

Yesterday afternoon, we had to take Little Man into the vet for the last time. It was so heart wrenching as he was always the lover of the group. No ulterior motive for attention. Hurts a lot.

OMG!! Stop the presses!!!

The world is stopping, it's snowing in Hell, and Richard has figured out how to Skype!! Thank you Carla and Gale. Now he's speaking to Phillip about getting on line. Never thought I would see the day, but it has arrived. Now we have to convince my dad and mom, Lisa, and the girls to get a camera and we can all have fun making sure we are dressed and combed just in case the computer rings. No skin shows here. We'd scare off the world. Spoke with Carla for about 30 minutes and had a great time. Gonna go now and see who else we can see to talk to. LOL

Everone is having a contest so I am having one t00. picked this up at a yard sale for two dollars. Bought it on a whim, I have NO use for it so if you can guess whats in it Ill send it to you. You don't even have to be right just close.
As for putting Mom in with Dad we can vote on in or just let everone keep Mom for as long as they want and then pass her off to who ever wants to be next. transportation logistics will be left up to who's gettin and who's given. This may take 10 to 20 years, I for one am not in any big hurry.
So let's have your best guess, don't be shy.

Happy Easter everybody!!

We have had several comments from a "Mike" about being a blog favorite and wanting to do an interview. Anyone know about this guy? He must be reading the "King of Letha " stories. Richard does like to ramble on when he is mad.

Haven't found the bowl so I have given up. As for the mind, I have a t-shirt that states "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most." Fitting I suppose. Got that t-shirt and another with the definition of stress on it when I use to drive school bus. One little lady rider asked me if I needed help. She was worried about getting home if I couldn't find my mind. Kids are great. They bring you back to earth. The shirt with the stress definition is not suitable for the younger crowd, so never wore it where they could see it. Language is something the school district regulates strictly.

Tax season is almost over, we have one more day at the Senior Center and we are done. As this winds down, the driver safety courses start. I do these things because it is something I can do and feel good about helping. There are no bossy bosses, just other volunteers, and it gets me out with people. I cannot just stay home and clean house. (I don't clean house anyway) I feel I can at least help someone and that is what life is about. Or should be anyway.

We were playing on the computers this morning and heard the unmistakable sounds of a dog fight. I head for the front room, and Lucy is leaving with her dignity bruised. Emmy, the old lady of the group, put Lucy in her place. Lucy has been bullying the others and Emmy finally got tired of it. She can't see or hear well, but she stood up for herself. We sure miss Oscar. Every now and then, I tear up and have to look away from Rich. If he sees me, it is very hard on him too. I just picture him in Heaven with Virginia (or where ever) on her lap as she pushes him off and he gets right back up again. He was persistent. She wouldn't let Oscar stay with her, but Lucy and her struck a chord. I had never seen her take to a dog, and Lucy is known for being very stand-offish (the word bitch fits her well). The two of them became friends, and Virginia asked about her whenever we went over. She enjoyed the dog!! Is the contest still open for a urn for Virginia? Richard and I went to a yard sale and bought a large urn that we thought would be suitable. Picture to follow when I can get one taken.
Well, I have rambled on enough. Catch you. Oh, and Happy Easter all.
